In its high mountains, the air smells of malotira, chamomile, thyme, and wild oregano. Its soil, nourished by sweat and love, passes from generation to generation like a precious inheritance.
From this earth, Spora was born.
At Spora restaurant, Crete is not just a place — it is a way of life.
Using raw materials produced on Spora's estates and from selected local producers, we create authentic flavours deeply rooted in Cretan tradition. Wine, olive oil, liqueur, petimezi, carob honey, and seasonal products become part of an experience that brings the true soul of Crete to the table.

SPORA was born in 2025, with deep roots going back to 1998. Since then we have been cultivating knowledge, experience, and passion for Cretan gastronomy, with respect for nature and its people.
Our restaurant is the natural continuation of a long-standing relationship with the land and its fruits. On our private estates, 25 kilometres outside Heraklion in the Roukani area, we grow olive oil, wine, honey, herbs, fruits, vegetables, and grape derivatives. All fresh, seasonal, at a natural pace — as in the old days.
At SPORA you will also find meat and dairy from small local producers who work with dedication and passion, choosing quality over mass production.
Here, every dish tells a story. A story of earth, seasons, people, and tradition. Nothing is accidental: from the colour of the plate to the fragrance of the herb, everything has a reason to exist.
SPORA is an invitation: to return to the roots of Cretan cuisine, to remember what it feels like to eat purely, cleanly, with gratitude to nature.
